Mirus is excited to announce our latest Version Release 8!  This new release includes a variety of visible features along with some behind the scenes changes that allow for better performance and flexibility for future enhancements. Read on to see the restaurant analytics benefits you can expect with Mirus Version 8.

Data Grid Update

With the release of Mirus Version 8 we upgraded our data grid solution from jgGrid to AG Grid. This change brings several improvements and new features that will enhance users experience with the Mirus application. AG Grid represents a significant step forward in data grid technology, offering:

  • Enterprise-grade features
  • Better performance with large datasets
  • Flexibility for future enhancements

This upgrade aligns with our commitment to providing clients with the best tools for restaurant data analytics.

New Features

The Mirus Version 8 release includes a number of new analytic features:

  • Temporary Filter
  • Autosize Columns
  • Integrated Charting
  • Column Statistics
  • Dimension Maintenance Import

Examples of each new feature are outlined below. You can also see examples of each feature in the Mirus Version 8 Features Video.

Temporary Filter

The Temporary Filter feature allows users to filter information on a report. This option is similar to our Measure Filter By Value feature within the Report Writer. However, Temporary Filter has more operators and is performed directly against the data grid. The filter is temporary and does not follow through to Export or Alerts and is not saved to the report.

Here is an example using the Temporary Filter feature. In this example we filtered the Gross Sales Breakfast column to display values greater than 300.

Autosize Columns

The Autosize This Column/Autosize All Columns feature allows users to automatically adjust the width of a single column or all columns on their reports. These changes are saved to the report settings.

Integrated Charting

The Integrated Charting feature allows users to create interactive charts directly from grid data. Simply highlight a section of your report and select the Chart Range option. This is a temporary feature that does not save to the report.

Users will see many chart types available:

  • Column
  • Bar
  • Pie
  • Line
  • X Y (Scatter)
  • Area
  • Statistical
  • Combination

After selecting a chart type, a pop-up window appears displaying the highlighted data in the chart form you selected.

The Chart Menu can be opened by pressing the three dots located in the top-right corner of the chart. The Chart Menu allows users to:

  • Edit the chart via the Chart Tool Panels
  • Change advanced settings such as interactivity
  • Link/unlink the chart to the grid
  • Download the chart

The Chart Tool Panels can be opened via the Edit Chart option in the Chart Menu and allow a user to:

  • Change the chart type
  • Change the theme
  • Change which columns are used as categories and series
  • Format different aspects of the chart

Column Statistics

The Column Statistics feature provides valuable insights into the characteristics and distribution of data within a column. This feature provides quick and comprehensive statistical data analysis in a selected column helping users understand data profiles, optimize query performance, and identify potential data quality issues.

A number of statistics and visualizations are available:

  • Distribution chart for a visual representation of data
  • For numerical data: sum, average, median, minimum, and maximum values
  • Count and frequency distribution of values
  • Total rows, empty cells, and unique values

The Column Statistics feature is useful for:

  • Quickly analyzing column data without creating pivot tables
  • Identifying data entry errors or inconsistencies
  • Preparing data for reporting and further analysis

As different columns are selected, the Column Statistics Panel updates dynamically. This allows users to easily compare statistics across datasets. Users can navigate between columns using the arrow buttons at the top of the panel.

Dimension Maintenance Import

The Dimension Maintenance Import feature allows users to efficiently manage and update dimension data within the system. This feature gives users the ability to import multiple dimensions at once, streamlining the process of maintaining and updating dimension information.

We're excited about bringing these new enhancements to our clients to improve their user experience and the functionality of the Mirus platform. Improvements in Mirus are driven by our clients.
